Ham - only my opinion but I think Bilic does like his sides to try and keep the ball and be on the front foot but he does not have a full compliment of players with the requisite technique, a team that lacks the fitness/stamina, a team that does not put in the work and get back behind the ball as soon as we lose possession or a combination of all these.

This IMO results in us getting caught on the counter too easily ( hence not tracking the breaking players), 2, 3 sometimes 4 midfielders all caught ahead of the ball providing no defensive cover, not pressing closely enough or for 90 minutes.

Last transfer window we solved the striker issue but that alone was never the only problem. There are 2 areas that need strengthening still. The central midfield needs a Dembele, Kante, Matic type holding player. I thought Obiang could do that and maybe he can but he also now seems to be getting caught ahead of the ball ( Bilic not making clear his role?) . But whatever the case we need another strong, physical, yet technically gifted player in there that will work hard ( maybe that was Carvalho). Then there is the left and right full/wing back positions. We need cover at least.

But the organisation, tactics and moreover the substitutions are as puzzling as ever. The sub of Antonio for Zab arguably lost us 2 points. We needed to stifle and press them to stop the supply and he brings on Antonio and later on takes off Fonte and we revert to effectively a back four without a right back. Surprised we did not lose.

We need a manager yes that will have us keeping possession ( achieved through movement and pace_) but one that builds the team on a strong defensive organisation with all players drilled on the need to get behind the ball when we do not have it and to press relentlessly.

We look a disorganised shambles at times for a reason... we are.

Re: How long will the owners allow this to continue?
All we want is a manager that likes his teams to have the ball and does so with some comfort and organisation and an intent to attack rather than be on the back foot.

If Bilic does most of these then keep him....

Chipper Unsworth.

That's an apt name. I remember watching him very closely when he played for us as I was sitting on left side of BML about six rows back.

I can also confirm that the chip clearance was literally about all he did.

Yeah sack Bilic so that none of our players might get bought...

Re: How long will the owners allow this to continue?
I think we need a new manager not just because bilic is rather inept but also to inspire the players and show what our plan is going forward - if any other club is sniffing around any of our players, what are we offering them right now that they can't get elsewhere for the same if not more money?

Dyche apparently made it known he wasn't interested in the Leicester job and preferred Everton.
He only gets 420K per annum at Burnley so I guess he realises a bigger club is now appropriate.
Unsworth doesn't impress me at all. I know he's just caretaker but the bookies make him favourite to take over permanently. He actually said the Z Cars theme makes the hairs on his neck stand up,for gods sake.
I think Dyche deserves a bigger job. He's not really my cup of tea,but he would certainly bring order to the chaos created by Bilic.

The longer this situation continues the longer it shows how incompetent they are as owners.

Re: How long will the owners allow this to continue?
On the owners, the last few Hugh Southon articles seem fairly convinced that the owners are now actively looking for a replacement. Presuming that comes from Gold, who has been very quiet in the last few days. Positive signs at least.

Re: How long will the owners allow this to continue?
Why would Everton want Dyche? And why would Dyche want to ditch a success story for Everton right now? It would have to be a lot of money. I can't see it.

Re: How long will the owners allow this to continue?
I see Joey Barton has slated Everton for appointing David Unsworth as caretaker manager. Too fat to be a coach, crap player in his prime etc.

I must say watching Unsworth at Leicester this afternoon, a pie eating contest winner came to mind. Apparently Joey nicknamed him 'Chipper Unsworth' after noting his favourite form of clearance as a player was the high chip up front which usually lost possession.

Looking at Sean Dyche's stats so far this season( worst defeat 0-3 at Man City) and his low salary at Burnley, I'm surprised he's not top of Everton's list at the moment. We could do a lot worse than Dyche too. A four times salary increase from us would still be less that what we pay loser 'Superslav'.

Agreed. They stuck with a losing proposition in a coach, and backed him heavily in the transfer market. Huge error.

I don't think it has anything to do with finance. Spurs joined the top four while turning a profit. It can be done.

A few of the better players won’t be here come this time next year, PL or Championship. Can see Lanzini and Antonio wanting out sooner or later.

I agree with vexed - in addition, you can see alot of our better players are fed up with being led by a manager that is leading us to the championship.

Re: How long will the owners allow this to continue?
I don't like the owners but this squad is much better than Bilic makes it look. This summer aside the owners have spent money, not enough to get to the next level as promised but enough to be a regular top half side without too much bother.

But we're not. Mostly down to Bilic. The owners are still fucking embarrassing wankers though.

Number one mistake was not sacking the oaf at the end of last season.

Regardless of any decision they make we will never progress under them because they simply will not / cannot provide the necessary finance.

Every last thing done on the cheap.

Pair of cunts.

When was the last time we played decent football and put in a convincing performance and won?

I reckon pre Christmas in Bilic's first season. We were terrible all last season. We are just as bad this season. Fuckin sack him!

Yarmouth 7:36 Sun Oct 29
Re: How long will the owners allow this to continue?
Until it's apparent to them that we could really get relegated then they'll act. Until then they'll stick with Billic and save themselves a pay out debt.

I really think its that simple..

Re: How long will the owners allow this to continue?
Thing is any discussion on here doesn't matter, it's discussions with them that would matter and until that happens (which it won't) people can rant as much as they like on here as it's a forum.

Discussion is done on KUMB and policed better than away games.

Re: How long will the owners allow this to continue?
Maybe, but then that's the problem with saying to the owners 'you lied'. They didn't lie, they just fucked it up. If you criticise the owners for what they've got wrong I think there's a string of legitimate complaints. If you make it personal and about their integrity and honesty, then it just turns into an irrational rant that helps nobody.

You can't have a discussion on here without somebody going off as if they've been personally sleighted by the owners. It's a real waste of energy and mostly irrational nonsense and conspiracy theory (ie the theories about them wanting to be relegated, asset stripping etc). It deflects from genuine criticism of what they've actually done. It's giving them a get-out to dismiss their critics.

Re: How long will the owners allow this to continue?
100% agree with that V... far far far more culpable people than the manager at the mo... but a) we can't sack the players... and b) we can't kill the board... so the manager has to go (in a lot of people's eyes)
